Serving Pasco & Pinellas Mohs surgery practices
Five hours of waiting between stages —
you shouldn't sit through that alone.
Mohs runs in stages: cut, lab, wait, repeat until margins are clear. The day can stretch from 9 AM to mid-afternoon.
If you're under sedation or on pain medication after closure, your dermatology practice requires a responsible adult to take you home.
Kavia waits with you, takes the wound-care instructions, and gets you home.
Flat rate · Long days included · No overage charges
Mohs is a long day, and the wound-care talk happens once.
Most Mohs surgeons require a responsible adult who can:
- Drive you to the appointment if sedation is planned
- Wait between stages (typical: 2–6 hours, sometimes longer)
- Receive wound-care instructions from the surgeon at closure
- Drive you home and confirm the dressing is intact
"Plan to spend most of the day at our office. We recommend bringing a responsible adult who can drive you home and review your post-operative instructions."
— American College of Mohs Surgery patient guidance
If the closure runs late and you're medicated, that ride home matters.
A rideshare driver can't cover a Mohs day

Door-to-door pickup
Picked up at your door so you arrive on time, even if the appointment is at 7 AM.
On-site between stages
Mohs runs in 2–6+ hour stages with lab waits. I stay on-site for all of it — flat rate.

Safe ride home
Driven home, walked inside, confirmed the dressing is intact and you're settled.
Pharmacy stop (included)
Pain medication or antibiotic ointment handled on the way home — no second trip.
Family updates (optional)
A check-in at pickup and after each stage if you want — no one is left wondering.

Hi, I'm Peter.
I run Kavia personally. I'm the one who shows up — not a dispatcher, not a rotating contractor.
I'm AHCA-registered, insured, and background-checked. I live in Port Richey and work directly with Mohs patients across Pasco & Pinellas.
Mohs days are long. I sit with you, take the wound-care instructions when they come, and get you home with everything written down.
Why Mohs Patients Choose Kavia
No overage charges
If your Mohs runs 4 stages instead of 1, the price stays the same. Most companion services charge by the hour. I don't.
Built for long-day discharge
By the time the surgeon comes in to explain the dressing, you've been there 5 hours. I'm fresh — taking notes, asking the follow-up questions.
Local and direct
Based in Port Richey. Not a platform. Not outsourced. Local support when the day gets long.

Questions about the Mohs surgery long day, answered.
It depends on how many stages your surgeon needs to clear margins.
Each stage is roughly: 30 min of cutting, 60–90 min lab wait. One stage = ~2 hours. Two stages = ~4 hours. Some patients need three or more.
I plan for the long version. If you're out at noon, that's a bonus. If you're there until 4 PM, the price is the same.
If you're not sedated and the closure is straightforward, you may not legally need one for the drive.
But Mohs surgeons consistently recommend bringing someone — for the day itself, for the wound-care talk, and because pain medication after closure changes the picture.
If you're not sure what your surgeon expects, mention it when you book and I'll confirm with the practice before your day.
It's rare but it happens — usually when margins aren't clear by close-of-business.
If you're rebooked for the next day, I cover the second day at 50% of the original rate. No new agreement, no new payment process.
No. Mohs is a sterile-field procedure — the surgeon, nursing staff, and you are the only people in the room.
I'm in the waiting area between stages, available the moment you're ready, and in the discharge room when the surgeon explains the wound care.
Yes, many patients use HSA or FSA funds for medically necessary accompaniment and transportation support services.

Long-day bookings take a full slot on my calendar, so earlier is better — especially for popular surgery days like Mondays and Wednesdays.
